Watch this video to easily connect your Hero Desktop Pass Printer to your Windows computer
Installation of the Soonmark Pass Printer
Before Beginning: The Chrome browser is required to use this printing process with Hero.
Step 1: Unbox the Soonmark printer and plug in to power and use the USB printer cable to connect to your Windows computer. Load a roll of pass printer paper with the pass paper being fed from the top of the roll instead of underneath. Ensure printer is powered on. You may need to also install the driver from the CD or flash drive that came with your printer.
Step 2: Click here to download a zipped file with the drivers or download from our login page - https://access.heropowered.com/school/login
Step 3: Ensure the Soonmark Printer is powered on and run the Printer Drivers.exe file, accepting the terms and choosing all the default options.
Technical Note: The Print Dispatcher has to be installed per each Windows USER PROFILE for each user that logs into Hero and plans on printing passes
Step 4: Next run the PrintDispatcher.Setup.msi file accepting the terms and choosing all the default options.
Step 5: After installing the Print Dispatcher, configure the print dispatcher by clicking on the Red “H” icon on the taskbar.
Step 6: Click on the configure button to open up the printer pass configuration window. Use the drop down to select the Pass Printer and check the "Use Zebra LP 2844 code" box to calibrate the printer and ensure that the passes are centered when printed. DO NOT click Calibrate PT 1000! You will have to restart the process if you do.
Step 7: Finally, follow the video below to set up your custom pass paper size. Your custom paper settings should look like this:
Technical Note: Printer settings are user specific in Windows. If your office computer has multiple users, each user will need to go in, install the printer, and add the custom paper size.
Troubleshooting Tips:
- If you accidentally click Calibrate PT1000, restart the process.
- If you get an error from the dispatcher, ensure that multiple instances of it are NOT open. Close one out in the bottom right corner of your task bar if they are.
- If your labels are not printing correctly, calibrate the printer yourself by holding down the calibrate button and the power button on the printer until it beeps.
