This article contains the instructions to properly set up the new GoDEX DT4x+ Desktop Printer.
1. Prepare your PC
1.1 Make sure there's no other printer or handheld scanner plugged into the PC.
1.2 Make sure there are no other GoDEX or PT1000 drivers installed.
1.3 Make sure the GoDEX DT4x+ printer is disconnected from the PC and turned off.
1.3 Download the printer drivers by (CLICKING HERE).
1.5 Download the Hero Print Dispatcher program by (CLICKING HERE).
2. Install the printer drivers
2.1 Open the DT4x+-CrudeDrivers.exe file, extract, and run the installation wizard.
2.2 On the driver's installer make sure to select the printer connection method "USB" then, turn on the printer using the power switch on the right side of the printer and plug it into the PC.
2.3 Once the PC recognizes the printer feel free to click on the (Next) button until the installation wizard has been completed.
2.4 IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE PRINTER IS SET AS THE DEFAULT PRINTER.
2.5 Run the HeroPrintDispatcher.msi and install the SchoolMint Hero program.
3. Configure the OS
3.1 IMPORTANT: Open the Control Panel, go to (Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager -> Printers) and right-click over the (GoDEX DT4x+) printer, then click on (Update Driver -> Search Automatically for drivers) and wait until Windows Update has completed the verification process, then click on the (Close) button.
3.2 Open the Hero Print Dispatcher program from the Windows Taskbar, and then click on (Configure).
3.3 Make sure that GoDEX DT4x+ is selected under the dropdown menu on the "Pass Printer Configuration" section and that there's no Zebra code checkbox checked, and then click on Calibrate PT1000 printer.
3.4 Once the printer has printed the test ticket, you can test it using the Hero Access Portal and print a tardy or any other printable behavior code.
