Activating Student Accounts
Method 1 - QR Code Activation (NEW! September 2020)
Students will create an account by scanning a QR code from the Hero app on their mobile device. *This method is ideal for students who have their own personal mobile device.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school has assigned a unique key to each student in the setup wheel > Key Management > Batch Create Keys.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school is receiving the student's email address for each student in the student lookup feature.

Method 2 - Unique Key
Students will create an account on the Hero web by using a pre-generated unique key that was previously distributed to the student.
REQUIRED: Please make sure that your school has assigned a unique key to each student in the setup wheel > Key Management > Batch Create Keys.

The Student Hero App
NEW! Hero has rolled out a new app for students as of August 2020. Students can download the new app by searching "Hero by Schoolmint" in their app store. Students who have previously created an account and used the old app, can log in to the new app with their existing credentials. It is recommended that all students are using the new app by the end of the school year. Learn More! | |
ORIGINAL - The old student app still works. Students can continue to use the old Hero app - "Hero k12 Students" in their app store. Eventually, all users (school, students, and parents) will be moved to the new app, and the old app will be removed. |
