How to map a student data file for import
You can manually upload your data for one time ad-hoc file sharing OR set up an automated import at a scheduled time.
Visit https://setup.heropowered.com Click on the importer icon
Click the plus to create a new import |
Name the file and select STUDENT IMPORT from the Import Type drop down menu
Choose upload a local file (this is a CSV file YOU pull from your SIS) Requirements: First Name, Last Name, grade level, and Student ID # (add more if desired) Choose your file and then click the blue UPLOAD FILE button When you click upload file, you will get confirmation this was successful (Reminder: there are more steps to complete, you're not quite done yet)
If necessary, describe your import file (If the fields in the table on the right are correct, you can skip this step) |
Match the Hero data tags in the table on your left with your file fields in the table on the right. |
Click SAVE and then click IMPORT NOW
Approximately how often does this need to be done?
You can do a student ad/hoc import any time you have bulk students to add to your system. After a one time import, you can manually update your system one student at a time on the Hero Access Portal.
How will teachers see student rosters?
Teachers can use the custom groups feature to manually add students to rosters, OR you can follow the same steps listed above with a SCHEDULE file import to allow teachers to see rosters upon logging in.
