Updating you school calendar is extremely important in keeping your Hero program accurate. Correctly configuring exclude dates in Hero will help you avoid inappropriately assigning an action to a student during a date when no actions can take place. Exclude dates are specific dates or date ranges not requiring reactions—for example, school holidays, teacher work days, or weekends when students are not present.
This guide will show you how to edit or create a date set with exclude dates.
Creating an Exclusion Date Set
1. To begin, log in to the Hero Setup Portal. Once logged in, click the Trac Code icon in the menu on the left side.
2. Scroll to the bottom. On the right, click Manage Actions.
3. Select an action to access the Edit Details window.
4. Check the Enable Reactions check box to view options and select skip over excluded days.
5. Scroll down to “Do you want to exclude any days” and click the ADD button. (If editing or adding additional days, hover of the last character of the name of your exclusions and the EDIT button will appear)
6. Name the Date Set.
7. Select a Date Range, Specific Dates, or Weekends Only. Date Range allows you to create a single date range for this set. Specific Dates is the most commonly used, and allows you to select multiple individual calendar dates. Weekends only auto selects all weekends.
8. To apply the date set to an action, click the check boxes for all date sets that need to be applied to the action you are editing, then click SAVE.
